"Our Place B and B" is located on the east side of Vancouver Island, overlooking the Straits of Georgia and the mountains of mainland British Columbia. We are located within the Oceanside Tourism Area, a short distance South of Parksville. The pretty village of Qualicum Beach is only a 15 minute drive from here.
Our location is an ideal jumping-off point for trips to Ucuelet, Tofino and "Long Beach" in Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. The world famous "Westcoast Trail" can be reached from here via Port Alberni and Bamfield. There are many attractions along the way. For example: Cathedral Grove with its 800 year old cedars, Butterfly World, and the Wildlife Refuge Centre. On the way you can also visit Coombs Market and observe the goats on its grasscovered roof. Everywhere, there is ample opportunity for hiking, golfing, fishing and kayaking in the ocean or the many lakes.
Only 100 meters from our home is a rock beach with huge driftwood logs. In the tidal pools you can find seastars. Sea lions, seals, otters, and eagles can often be seen or heard while wandering along the beach. On the opposite side of Craig Bay lies Rathtrevor Provincial Park with its wonderful sandy beach.
Our home is newly built in a contemporary style. Both of our guest rooms, with ensuite bathrooms, and the guest sitting room are located on the lower floor. There is ample room in both guest rooms for a single cot for a third person, either an adult or a child. Breakfast is served in our dining room on the upper floor or on the balcony. From both sites one can view the ocean.
We offer a delicious hot breakfast consisting of egg dishes such as omelets, eggs benedict, or French toast. We may also serve pancakes or waffles. The starter consists of fresh fruit prepared in various ways, accompanied by juices and home-baked breads, scones, or muffins.
Connections to Vancouver Island
Air access to Vancouver Island is via Victoria, Nanaimo, or Comox . The BC Ferries connect to Vancouver Island via Nanaimo or Victoria.
